About: The Cheshire & Merseyside NHS Treatment Centre

What I liked

I have been a patient at this Treat ment Centrel for an Arthroscopy in March 2007 and a subsequent Knee replacement in March 2008. The treatment I received on both occasions was excellent and my Consultant was one of the kindest and most professional I have ever dealt with. Nursing staff, physios and everyone else concerned with my care were excellent as well. This all aide my ongoing recovery from my procedures. I further attended the Centre in May 2010, in connection with ankle surgery which, unfortunately could not be performed at the centre. However the Foot Specialist I saw was extremely helpful with advising me what to do next. She wrote to my GP immediately and her letter arrived within a week!!

What could be improved

Nothing.

Anything else?

I am now recovering from ankle surgery but require treatment for my other knee. I was intending to go back to Treatment Centre for this as soon as I was able however I read about the imminent closure recently. I am devastated to hear this, worried about where I will go in the future, how long will I have to wait. I can't believe such a good facility cannot be continued for Orthopaedic use at a lower cost maybe to the NHS. Otherwise , what a waste of a facilty, highly specialised staff and "state of the art "equipment and operating theatres. Is this really "Cost Cutting"? This Centre has got to be one of the best performing in the Country. Why break up a team that work so well together!
