"I had my scs fitted in 2017"

About: Seacroft Hospital / Pain Management

I had my SCS fitted in April 2017 and everything was going well and then just before Christmas my battery moved and twisted, it is so painful not sleeping well and when I went to hospital the nurse I seen told me I needed to have it manipulated back in it's place and I said ok. I phoned back a week after which was in January 2018 that it will be months before I can have it done, I know the NHS is cancelling ops but when your told you need your op URGENT it shouldn't mean months. I wish I could afford to go private but then I think I shouldn't need to go private. The pain has started interfering with my work and I'm not happy at all.

Thank you for taking the time out to write to us and bring your concerns to our attention. please accept my sincere apology for the delay in responding to your post.

I am very sorry to hear about the delay in your appointments and understand this must have been a very distressing time for you. If you wish to discuss this further or you are still have problems with your treatment I would be happy to look into the matters you have raised, however, there is not enough information included in your post for me to investigate further. I would therefore ask that you contact our Trust’s Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS) if you feel you would like to discuss your concerns further.

This would allow us look into the matters you have raised and contact the relevant management to see why there is a delay. It would also allow us to see what lessons could be learnt from your experience.

Please call our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 2066261 or alternatively email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net, if you feel you would like to discuss your concerns further.

Thank you once again for taking the time to write to us.

With kind regards,

Rosie
