"In safe hands in Ward 13"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as a relative),

My mother-in-law was admitted to the above ward at the end of December 2017 but sadly  passed away in mid January 2018.

During her time on the ward we were very impressed with the care she was given by all members of staff. She was treated at all times in a caring and compassionate way and all nursing staff should be commended for their professionalism and the empathetic way in which they carried out their duties.

There was always someone available to speak to but, more importantly, they listened when we voiced concerns. We were reassured knowing she was in safe hands.

Thank you

Dear Maid Marion,

Thank you for sharing your kind comments when it must still be a difficult time for you and your family.

As an acute hospital we all strive to provide care with compassion as it can be distressing for patients and relatives to have to come into the hospital setting.

I feel very heartened to read your positive experience of our person centered care and I'll ensure that Ward 13 staff share this lovely feedback.

Kind regards

Gwen
