"Clinic care good, waiting times for..."

What I liked

I had a test in September 2010 which was conducted in an efficient manner and told I would be seen in follow up clinic with results. This did not happen.

Test No 2 in January 2011 was conducted in a professional manner and told my cardiologist would see me in clinic with the results. I Had a bad reaction to test and staff were concerned and attentive until my recovery.

What could be improved

It took 4 months to arrange the second test and I still have not had any results from the first one,yet alone the 2nd one.

My follow up appointment is not until June and I think to wait 5 months to get results is appalling and not acceptable.

Anything else?

I have now received a letter of cancellation and do not know how long I will have to wait for the next one. I do not understand how a patient could be left for so long before getting any results. I understand Cardiology is a busy department but if it was not for my chasing up any outcome, I would not have had the appointment for the second test.

I believe the hospital as a whole is excellent but does lack any form of continuity of care in my case.
