About: Ilkley & Wharfedale Medical Practice

I count myself extremely fortunate to be a patient of this practice. Ten years ago whilst I was caring for my husband with a chronic post operative knee infection and latterly Alzheimers dementia ; my younger daughter, not a member of this practice, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was given tremendous support both mentally and physically by my named doctors. They helped me to source home-care, practical equipment and district nurse care. The latter gave me valuable information on respite care for my husband whilst I supported my daughters 4 months stay in Airedale hospital..

Since their deaths, in the same year, I have had three significant health problems the latest in November 2017. In each case I have had prompt attention, consultant appointments, and continuing monitoring by the same doctors which has given me the confidence to remain in my own home .

The Practice always endeavours to provide a friendly, caring service and all our staff are trained and encouraged to make the patient feel supported and cared for. It is always very much appreciated when patients recognise that effort and take the trouble to feed that back.
