"Excellent care of my brother"

About: NHS England London Northwick Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

I took my brother to Accident and Emergency at the hospital. On that day the department was very busy and the queue was out of the door.  Patients  attending the department were asked to attend the local health centre in Belmont. However there was no explanation on who would be appropriate to attend there and no offer of transport that may have helped reduce the queue and waiting list. The wait was up to 3 and a half hours.

My brother was seen and directed to the Urgent Care Centre where he received excellent care and a particular thank you to the medical and nursing team who were on duty on Boxing Day afternoon. A particular thanks to Dr Sean and staff nurse Kevin. My brother was then admitted to Elgar ward. We were dismayed that the day after his admission the ward were going to be discharging him  when he was not medically well and out of catchment area and living on his own.  After discussion with the medical team we were grateful that he was able to stay until the 2nd January and on discharge his care was transferred to the area he lives in. I would like to thank everyone in the Urgent Care centre and Elgar ward on the excellent care he received.
