"How surgery and anaesthesia has changed!"

About: Frimley Park Hospital / General surgery

I qualified as a nurse in the mid 1980’s and it is fair to say that in that time the change in treatment of what used to be regarded as “major surgery” requiring more than 7days in hospital, to literally in and out in just over 7 hours!!

What could be regarded as a ‘conveyor belt’ has been kept with patient centric information.

On no occasion was something left unexplained, or a person left unintroduced.

Post-op care was exemplary particularly as I had a complex need for analgesia. Many grateful thanks to the experienced male nurse who was very patient with my needs.
