"Nerve pain had kept me awake for most of the night"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

I thought I'd been bitten on my back by an unknown insect, but nothing was helping with the itch and the nerve pain which I'd suffered for days, and, neither of which had responded to antihistamine or ibuprofen. . I felt I would be wasting the NHSs time by going to A&E, so when I saw that they had an out of hours service I decided to go at 7am this morning.

The reception staff were welcoming and sympathetic and the doctor was amazing.

I was seen in 10 mins (most people are in bed at 7am) and saw the doctor.

I could not have had better care and better explanation of how I might have contracted what she diagnosed straight away as shingles. I cannot speak highly enough of the team and the service.
