My partners waters broke on Sunday the 8th October 2017 at 3am (we weee in bed at home) called the hostpital and they told us to come in so we did so, partner was put on machine and all was fine they sent us home as she wasn’t in full labour yet, 5pm that evening we went back to the hostpital and my partner was admired so they could keep an eye on her as our son was back to back.
4am the next morning the consultant wanted to speed up labour as our son was getting distressed, so she was hooked up to drips and monitors etc, however things progressed that quick our baby did not get a chance to turn around so he was coming out face up, no matter how hard she pushed his head kept going back in, they attempted to pull him out with forceps and had no luck at this time we had about 4 midwifes and 2 consultants in the room trying to get him out, then his heart rate dropped badly, we got rushed to Theatre for a category one c section wihich is an emergency. Our son was born within 10 minutes of getting to Theatre. He cane out not breathing we seen him for about 20 seconds then he was rushed to special care to be place on life support. Then that evening my partner started to hemrige, so she got rushed back to Theatre her life was literally on the line but the doctors saved my partner and our baby so I couldn’t thank them enough for what they did to save my son and partner
. We stayed in for 6 days and couldn’t fault the staff on the birthing centre and ward 16 thank you for everything you’d done!
