About: Northwick Park Hospital

I attended an appointment today with a Consultant for results following several scans to ascertain progress of treatment for lung cancer.

Unfortunately I had to wait well over an hour to be seen BUT that was because the Consultant is so thorough with her patients and takes her time in explaining everything and encourages you to ask questions.

I would far rather have this experience than be on time and hurried out of a consultation without any care or concern.

The specialist Macmillan nurse was also present and again praise has to go to him for his attention and helpfulness.

Since being diagnosed last August I can honestly say that I have received nothing but professional, kind and efficient care from all departments.

The staff are constantly under pressure to meet targets and must I feel leave their duties each day feeling frustrated that they do not have the resources to make things better both for their patients and themselves.

If people would see things from the staff's point of view and maybe put themselves in their shoes the negative nasty reviews would decrease.

Whilst I do not wish to have this condition (and nobody would) I cannot say that any treatment or appointment I have had has been anything but professional, caring and efficient.

It was very heartening to learn that both the Consultant and the MacMillan team are providing you with such good care and that you have found all the staff that you have come into contact with professional and caring.
