"poor, hope i never get sent there"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

What I liked

MMMM... what can I put in here? nothing I think...

What could be improved

well my mothers care at Wansbeck General Hospital , Ashington, Northumberland has been total disgrace as far as im concerned, when she was took in and spent the day scanning, X-ray, blood testing her the GP said to my sister and my mothers boyfriend that she had a Blood Clot, Bruising on the Brain, Fractured Skull - her ear was bleeding and she was vomiting blood, she complained of pains in her lungs, neck and back and kept asking for a brace to help support her neck but never got one - she was moved through 3 wards during her stay... when it come to finding out what was wrong with her she couldn't remember what they tell her as she is wasted on Morphine and in Pain - when I rang them to ask they wouldnt tell me anything over the phone, when i went in they couldnt let me see her GP cos in surgery and couldnt say when I would be able to see them but too..wait for it...ring back after 6pm after they have been around...(thought they didnt give out info over the phone?) I rang back after 6pm and they said just that and GP still hadnt been around...sickening...cant find out whats actually wrong with her...they giving her Morphine, Codeine and Paracetamol for the pain - then..today..they kick her out her bed, pack her bags and stick her in reception and dont even contact any of her family to tell them she being dis-charged.. we only found out as we rang her bedside phone to ask how she was and the new patient answered and said the nurse was running over to answer it, she told me she discharged and wouldnt discuss particulars of her problem over the phone, so i got my brother to ask when he went in too pick up and the information thats relayed back to us is "nothing wrong with her, just bad heads" - now why would the original consultant on her original ward say things like "blood clot, bruising on brain and fracture" and also what about the pains she getting and complained about, lungs, neck, back... if after all its just "bad-heads"

- continued below

Anything else?

...

now me mother has an appointment for emergency scan at the ENT at Freeman Hospital tomorrow and they didnt even ask if she would need an ambulance, she not in fit state to travel by bus, I have arranged an ambulanve to pick her up and guess what., the ENT dept werent even aware of the appointment but said it would be OK anyway...

an absolute disgrace...

they gave her a bit of paper which had on list "if you get any of these symptoms come straight back in" - she had every symptom on the lists, she told them and they said "yeah but if they get worse"

Iam foaming, I rang the Ward up and demanded to speak to her Consultants Secretary to Arrange a phone call or visit to speak to the GP, the number they gave me was wrong, she didnt know how to pronounce or spell the GP's name - the number I rang managed to get me a number to contact but there was no answer and I left a long winded message with my name and number but no-ones called me back yet (called about 1 hour ago)

I want answers...

1. what exactly is wrong with her?

2. why did original GP say all that about blood clot etc?

3. what about all the neck, lung and back pains?

4. why was she discharged when none of her family been notified or told exactly whats wrong with her?

5. why is the quality of care at that hospital such a disgrace?
