I just wanted to say thank you to the team, led by one particular staff member, in the Early Pregnancy Unit at the Jigsaw Building.

My husband and I recently had a miscarriage and decided to have the d&c operation under local anaesthetic. Vanessa looked after me before, during and after the operation which I found really reassuring at what was a scary time.

It was slightly intimidating to have the operation under local anaesthetic as I was aware of what was going on, but it was over over and done with quickly. Plus I found it of comfort that I was scanned before and after the operation. My recovery time was also relatively quick which I think was due to having the op under local.

The Jigsaw Building was clean and tidy. I was very impressed.

So sorry to hear that you and your husband have suffered a miscarriage and hope you have close family and friends to support you through this difficult time.

Thank you for noting the cleanliness of the department, the Jigsaw building is currently our newest building and was purpose built with charity monies raised for women’s health.

Thank you also for noting the care given by those looking after you and how reassuring you found having a single point of care throughout your experience as I’m sure this made it easier to find comfort rather than have multiple interactions with different staff during a stressful time.

We will share your comments with Vanessa and the team.
