"Thanks for everything"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / Accident and emergency

My wife was taken into A&E last Friday. I was made welcome by the Staff Nurse and was able to stay with her. My wife has dementia and did not have a clue what was going on. She had a CT scan and X-ray as well as blood tests, no hanging around. Eventually I was informed that she was to stay in for one or two nights.

I was impressed that the ambulance crew came to see how she was getting on.

On telephoning the ward to check that she was happy, the nurse informed me that all was well.

I was a little disappointed that on the Monday when I had a call to say that the doctor had cleared her to return to her care home, it took 7 hours to get her prescription before transport could be organised.

Otherwise many thanks to the staff at QEQM.

We are pleased to hear your wife had a good experience when she came into our A&E.

We are very sorry it took so long to arrange your wife's prescription, we will feed your comments back to the A&E, wards and Pharmacy team.

We hope your wife is making a good recovery.
