"Exteme poor care of an elderly patient."

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Anything else?

How extremely disappointed I am with the Cumberland Infirmary. Sending home my mother, who is frail and suffers enough pain through having rheumatoid arthritis throughout her body, when she presented herself to A & E with a metal pin nearly sticking through her elbow which is making it nearly impossible to get any sleep due to extreme pain. Only to be sent home with her arm in a sling and told to wait until her next appointment in orthopedics in another two weeks time unless the pin actually pierced through the skin. Shocking that no Registra or Consultant could be available to actually come and speak to her about it after taking x-rays and blood samples. Surely this shouldn't be how elderly people should be treated? Shocking!!
