I have been having my inr bloods done at home since oct/Nov. Two weeks ago hca came when got results I was told to make apt at clinic I explained I didn't go out only to collect grandaughter twice a week,What wasn't said was my car parked right outside my bungalow and as she is 11 she comes to the car I don't get out.Explained or tried to and was told I didn't meet the criteria for home visits.Was told to get to reception and ask for a wheelchair no way am I going to do that as my anxiety levels are already sky high from leaving the house.I cancelled last week's visit but went today I have been up since 4am in a panic.I was told it's only a short walk from car park well that short walk took me 15 mins.Have emailed pals and got no response surely somebody can hell me ???

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear of your concerns and can only apologise for any distress caused.

As you may appreciate General Practice is under considerable strain as demand for GP services increase and we have to ensure we provide a good level of care for all our patients.

Home visits take clinicians out of the Practice and thereby reduce the number of appointments available for patients attending the Practice.

This is why we have to ensure home visits are clinically appropriate and only reserved for those patients who are housebound and we follow guidance to ensure patients fit the criteria.

Without knowing your individual circumstances I can only advise if you are able to leave the home then you are not housebound and this is why we will have asked you to attend the Practice.

However, if you have any concerns about this I would suggest you contact the Practice directly so we can investigate and advise.
