This clinic is very efficient and the nurse informative and helpful.
However when you arrive in the clinic you are asked to fill in a form which contains not just name , address, date of birth but also medical history ,medication, ages of children, how old you were when you had your first child, operations, why you are at the clinic ect.
At the top of the form it states that the information is confidential and will be held your notes.
So why did the nurse hand the completed form over to a volunteer who old folded it and read it in front of me ?.She then wanted to herd me down to the breast imaging department and when I told her I could make my own way she became quite cross and demanded that I told her the route I would take just so she could "be sure that you know where you are going".
I assumed that my confidential details would remain confidential between me and the trust employees not given to volunteers.
I suspect the response from the trust will be along the lines of "we are very proud of our volunteers" and this may be right but this should supersede my right to expect confidentiality when it comes to my personal details.
