About: South Tyneside District Hospital / General surgery

We visited A and E on two occasions recently (the evening of 26th and morning of 30th January) and my husband received excellent treatment on both occasions. He was seen quickly by staff who proved to be conscientious and caring despite challenging circumstances. They quickly assessed him and on both occasions he was admitted on to the surgical ward.

During his two ‘stays’ (one for a weekend 26th-28th Jan and the other for 6 days starting on 30th Jan) he received a very high standard of care from all the staff he encountered. They took the time to explain things to him and treated him with respect at all times. He was well looked after. All staff including nurses, doctors, orderlies etc. were all friendly and helpful.

We can not thank the staff enough for looking after him so well, it is greatly appreciated by our whole family!
