Dear octoberjm63,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about the care you received in the Emergency Department and Stroke Unit. I hope you are well on your way to recovery.

We have been working very hard with our colleagues in the stroke unit to ensure that patients who we suspect may have had a stroke are seen as quickly as possible. It is fantastic to hear that your care was immediate and professional. We aim for this every time.

I will share your comments with the rest of the team. If you would like your comments to go directly to the staff that looked after you in the Emergency Department please email me your name and date of birth Claire.Gilroy@nhs.net.

Claire

Dear octoberjm63,

What a frightening time coming in to hospital with a suspected stroke. As a team we recognise the importance of acting fast to ensure you receive the best possible treatment from admission. We are fortunate to be supported by a dedicated team within our emergency department who work closely with us to ensure rapid assessment, investigations and treatment.

It is so important staff are professional and I am delighted you found this right from admission. As a team we strive to deliver the highest standard of care adapted to each persons individual needs. Initially you have so many investigations, monitoring and treatment being undertaken that it can be overwhelming. These aspects are so important for the best possible chance of recovery. Equally important though is communication and for staff to ensure you feel cared for. We have to get it right on all aspects and the human, caring qualities are so important at what is a really difficult time. I am glad you found the staff in 3E to be caring.

We really appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. The team will be delighted to read your lovely comments and we can't ask for more than you 5 star plus rating!!

I hope you are continuing to make a good recovery.

Christine
