"Amazing care and personal interest"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as a service user),

I had a High Anterior Resection operation. I am eighty and didn't think I'd get through the anaesthetic let alone walk to Waitrose this morning on my own for a cup of hot chocolate ten days after a major operation which took a large section of my bowel away.

And this was due to the amazing care and personal interest and support the surgeon, nurses, and care staff gave me. I was stunned by the patience kindness and  friendliness which supported the wonderful professionalism. The nurses worked 12 hour shifts and even at the end of the shifts although you could see they were tired.......they all continued to react with kindness and individual support.

A Heart and Bowel-felt Thank You.

Dear hydrayc83

I am delighted to hear that you are doing so well after your surgery and that you had an extremely caring and positive stay. It is a major operation and to be doing so well after 10 days shows a real determination on your part, as well as the expertise of the whole team managing your care. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with everyone and best wishes for your continued recovery.

Kind regards

Laura
