"experience of Shire Hill in-patient and..."

About: Shirehill Hospital

i have been impressed by Shire Hill's in-patient care going back many years from a point of view of a relative and visitor.

The nurses care and worked hard and the patients were contented.

From an out-patient point of view I have had several periods of physiotherapy for injuries and have always received patient and caring service and eventually left with exercise sheets to continue their good work.

To lose either of these services would be a disaster for the people of Glossop and surrounding villages.

The idea of centralising the functions at Tameside Hospital is laughable. It is already under pressure as I can witness from my twelve and a half hours on a trolley last year.

Please reconsider and retain the badly needed care beds at Shire Hill.

Thank you for your comments we will ensure these are provided to the commissioners.

A consultation was undertaken by the CCG who agreed which proposal would be taken forward.

As a Trust, we have been asked to re- provide this service going forward.

In doing so we intend to ensure that clinical service provision meets or exceeds what has previously been provided and are working to ensure staff are involved and engaged in the proposed re-provision.
