My husband was admitted to Strathcarron Hospice late November 2017. He is terminally ill with cancer. We also have a specialist nurse from Strathcarron who visits regularly at home who has been a great help to us both. She suggested it was time he was admitted to Strathcarron for pain management as his pain management at the time was not working so well. The word hospice scares many people for various reasons but on admission he/we were made very welcome indeed. A beautiful room with beautiful views and everyone so kind made it all the bit easier for my husband. On the second day I noticed a difference in my husband the fear etc had gone and he looked relaxed and alot happier I could come whenever I wanted which pleased my husband too. The staff were all lovely and made me feel relieved and kept me updated with everything regarding his care and treatment.
Family, grandchildren and friends were all made to feel welcome.
I have known for many many years that Strathcarron is a special place, until you are personally involved with the care of a loved one you realise just how special it is.
Every member of staff are special and I like to call them "earths angels". Thank you Strathcarron for being there.
"A special place"
