What could be improved

My mother in law died in this hospital. She was sent to the rehab ward after a fall and although in her late 90s was expected to recover. Day by day we watched her deteriorate. Despite being unable to sit up and eat by herself she was rarely assisted and if food wasn't eaten, she was just left and never encouraged. Despite being dreadfully dehydrated and us being told to encourage her to drink, every day we woudl find her jug on a table at the far end of the bed where she couldn't reach it and she wasn't put on a drip until it was far too late. We begged for her to be given meal supplements but this wasn't done until her last few days. At visiting time we would be kept out of her room while nurses cleaned up her incontinence which she had obviously been left lying in for ages. It took weeks to find that she had a tea plate sized bed sore. She should have been in a hospice and treated with respect rather than just left lying there to die. Her sister who was ambulatory and able to care for herself apart from a broken wrist, loved the place
