"day surgery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

About: Queen's Hospital / Gynaecology

Hi all I would like to share my experience at Queens hospital!!!! I live in Brentwood and was expected to have surgery done in local hospital or Broomsfield as ive asked. I was horrified as ive read bad revues about it. So went in today thinking all negative and guess what???? What a service!!! Everyone from 2 nurses to 2anaesthetist to 2 doctors and then after care team just to my self! I was shocked! I had my curtain open fully on purpose just to see how other people been dealt with. I have also noticed how brilliant staff were with people who didn't speak English well, saw a Doctor comforting (giving a hug) to an elderly patient who was in tears and scared of her operation. Bdw her husband was there. Ive had my hand held when I was getting my anaesthetic as I am scared of needles. When I woke up had 2 nurses beside me all the time who made me at ease,we all spoke, shared a joke, was monitored at all time, was asked time and time again if I needed anything or if theres anything they can do for me. Then got taken to a room where I waited for my opp and saw doctor who operated on me, he gave me good news, nurse asked me many times if I would like a drink or something to eat, overly nice lady. I knew my other half would be picking me up and hes a builder and was working that day,so ive asked if I could meet him outside (as I knew he would be covered in dust ,muck what ever you want to call it) so spoke to nurse and the walked me out off the hospital carrying my bag all the way to drop off pick up area. So in my eyes ive had a fantastic service and everything ive seen. Than you sssssoooo much to all staff at Queens who looked after me today you were amazing
