"Thank you UCH for your care and kindness"

I was in the care of UCH from 16 Jan 2018 when I had the sad news about my pregnancy up until my surgery as a day patient on 2nd February. All the staff at the Early Pregnancy Unit were kind and thoughtful. They made sure I understood why they had to monitor me and scan me quite a few times and whilst the news was devastating it was delivered with remarkable kindness and sensitivity. I was nervous about my surgery but the team there were just as wonderful. Thank you to you all - particularly the incredibly lovely anaesthetist. She put me at my ease, was so gentle and talked me through the steps as she put me under and was such a reassuring presence. Thank you to too my surgeon, I really appreciated your work but also your visit afterwards to talk me through everything. Thanks for mopping me up!

One reads so many negative things about the NHS but I can honestly say UCH is a shining example of what care should be. From the cheerful chap who took me up to surgery to the efficient receptionist, everyone is doing their best and treats you with respect. I can’t imagine how much stress you are all under but I never felt rushed, ignored or like I was just a number on a job list. Thank you. The are few institutions that make one proud to be British these days but the NHS is one of them.
