"I was extremely impressed with all..."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to Johnson Ward via A&E following a heart attack on 8 Mar 11, before receiving an angioplasty with stents in the Cath Lab on 15 Mar 11. The delay was caused by more urgent cases needing the use of the facilities involved, which are obviously not unlimited. Throughout my stay, I was treated with great care & respect by all the staff involved, both medical and non-medical. The ward was very clean and the food was of a very acceptable standard. I was kept well-informed about my condition throughout and fully understand and agree with the reasons for the delay to my own treatment. All the staff I encountered seemed to be very hard-working and dedicated to the care of the patients. Overall, I am very grateful for the way I was treated.

What could be improved

My only very minor criticism was that the Cath Lab itself was quite cold compared to the rest of the hospital, especially when only clad in the issued gown and flattering paper pants. However, perhaps this was just down to my poor circulation before I received the treatment! It also gave me an excuse for pre-procedure trembling (as opposed to nervous anticipation) so I could justify accepting the offered relaxant drugs!

Thank you very much for your feedback - it did make me smile, particularly in relaiton to pre-procedure trembling! I am glad the Johnson and cardiology team took such good care of you and hope you have made a full recovery (especially after such a long time considering my response is so late - we have only recently set up a process for regularly reviewing and responsiding to patient stories and I feel it is important to track back through older posts as well as recent ones). I have passed your comments onto the staff and asked that they either review the heating in the cath lab or provide blankets for patients.

Thank you again for your feedback.
