My visit to the Day Care Unit at Macclesfield Hospital yesterday was, quite simply, fantastic. I underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy and it was my first surgery but the team made me feel so at ease.
The day moved surprisingly quickly and I was never left alone for too long. Everybody working on the unit knew my name and made me feel safe and secure. Every question I had was answered and I appreciated being able to be speak to both my anaesthetist and surgeon prior to the surgery, no question I had was too silly for them and for that I thank them!
The care I received was second to none from everybody. A big thank you to all the nurses that I encountered who made me feel dignified in every moment, the porter who wheeled me to theatre who calmed me down, the anaesthetist who made me laugh because he saw I was anxious, the surgeon for doing an amazing job and to the person who held my hand as I came back around (a bit too emotionally!)
Once again, a big thank you to everybody involved!
"A sincere thank you."
