The mother of my god-children, was recently admitted to The Wisdom after 3 weeks in hospital, including in ICU. We all knew this would be a final stay but there was still such an encouraging feel about everybody with whom we came into contact during the 5 days my friend was in the hospice. After the necessary hustle and bustle of a busy DGH, the peace and calm in The Wisdom was uplifting and we all felt supported on this last stage of our friend - and Mum’s - journey through life. She was treated with the utmost dignity and respect, at all times & I was privileged to be with her family, supported by a member of the Wisdom nursing team, when she finally slipped peacefully away yesterday morning. Even then, it became apparent the hospice team would continue to provide support, if wanted, as the family adjusts to life without their Rock. What a wonderful place - and service; I cannot thank the entire team enough.
