My son had been waiting for an operation on his knee since mid 2017. The damaged knee has has serious implications in his ability to do his job. He finally got word that he would get his operation recently and had his pre-op appraisal.
On the day before his surgery was due to take place he got a phone call cancelling his surgery... due to 'construction work causing dust in a ward'. He has had no alternative date offers and has had to cancel leave. His employer has had to re-arrange shifts around his job.
As a father you can imagine that at whatever age you want your children to be looked after and given the same access to support from the NHS as anyone else anywhere in Scotland... this has had a very negative impact on my son and I am very disappointed at the dismissive way this has been dealt with by Raigmore Hospital with absolutely no alternative date offered to him.
What happens Now? What is the process for follow up? What are the protocols?
"Cancelled operation"
