I had to have a day surgery for DCIS early breast cancer to remove tissue and surrounding area I was absolutely terrified EVERY SINGLE nurse who I saw could not have helped anymore they were absolute angels.The weeks building up before surgery

I had to have mammograms and scans biopsys ect and each member the team were tremendous one nurse who happened to meet 3 times during my visits was so brilliant at her job she noticed how pale I looked when she called me in to the mammogram room she took my hand explained everything even helped me start to laugh I was instantly relaxed and realised a mammogram was nothing to fear same nurse was there 1 week later for biopsy she remembered me and asked how my 5yr old daughter was doing which once again made me at ease enough to say afterwards that the biopsy was a doddle which without the support and care of the staff may have been a different matter.Once at surgery on 11 dec 2017 my surgeon came along shook my hand talked me through his procedure and asked if I had any concerns or questions he was amazing.Then in the anathatist room the aneathatist was BRILLIANT to say the least he even started joking on as he began the 1st seconds of putting me to sleep he sais now don't try n fight it mel with a smile I tried to laugh and fight it but 123 a was out that experience has gave me confidence once again to go through my next procedure which is Monday 5th feb 2018 I have to unfortunatly have a mastectomy.As scary and daunting as this procedure is causing me I know ill be in great hands at University North Durham Hospital.This review has took me anh hour to write as am not to good on a keyboard as good as o mobile phone but I Had to leave one just to let others know what an outstanding team of drs nurses surgeons aneathesists even receptionists all ***** star well done.
