"Unable to get appointments."

About: Elizabeth Court Surgery

Yet again I am struggling to get an appoint, even a telephone one. I need a medication review as my prescription is due to finish at the end of the week and one won't be issued until I have my review. I am told to ring at 8am, when I do the lines are constantly engaged, I have to set off to get to work, when I get there we have no internet signal, I use the company phone to ring again for an appoint to be told there are none available. I told the receptionist I possibly need to see a GP anyway rather than a telephone consult as I have post menopausal bleeding to be told there is nothing she can do. When I do on occasion manage to get a telephone consult I leave my work number as there is no internet at work and the GP still rings me on my mobile. I have worked as a practice nurse and fully understand the difficulties within the service however there is no leeway for pts who work.

Dear Patient,

Sincere apologies for the late response.

We are sorry to hear that you have been struggling to get an appointment.

As a practice we are aware that appointments are very difficult to access at the moment, but we are constantly reviewing the situation as we know that patient demand is increasing.

I can assure you that we are working extremely hard to try and resolve this.

I can only apologise about not phoning you on your work number rather than on your mobile number.

When you speak to one of our administration staff, they should take the best contact number and the Doctor would telephone on that number.

I will look into this matter to which you refer.

I do hope you have managed to get either a telephone appointment or an appointment to see one of the doctors.

If this is not the case, could you please contact me at Pinfold Surgery on 01977 664141 press 1 for Pinfold Surgery.

Kind Regards

Sue Allaway

Patient Liaison Manager
