About: Marie Stopes International Essex Centre

Wanted to share my experience as before I had my appointments I was googling everyone’s reviews as I was so nervous... so today had a surgical abortion at 7 weeks, this was a decision that was best for my family.. I called Marie Stopes Cliniic when I found out I was pregnant, they lady on the phone was very good and listened and answered all the questions I had, went for my consultation and again the lady who carried out all my checks was so lovely she made me feel like she really understood what I was going through and assured me everything would be ok!! My blood pressure was high and she said they would have to see how it was on the day of the surgery to confirm if they could carry it out. I of course was so worried it made it much higher.. I booked my treatment to the following Tuesday (today) on arrival at the clinic I again was welcomed by very welcoming receptionist.. went and sat in the waiting room for around 5 mins and I was called through... spoke to 2 different people and signed some paper work and went back to the waiting room I liturallt sat down and was called again it was all very quick which of course made it much easier instead of sitting around.. I was then taken upstairs where I waited around 10 mins and then taken through to prepare for the surgery, I was so scared I really didn’t know what to expect when the door opened I was very nervous.. I went in and met all the team and what an amazing team they were the surgeon spoke to me told me he would look after me and that everything would be ok.. I was standing speaking to them all and they all made me feel so much better, the anesatic was super gental and I hardly felt the canula being put in.. the nurse told me everything would be ok and she would not leave my side.. I literally felt so safe.. as I was being put to sleep the surgeon kept telling me it would all be ok and to keep calm next thing I knew I was awake in and chair.. from the time I was waiting in the Pre surgery room was 10.30am and I woke up and was fully aware by 10.45 it was super quick!! The nurses who looked after me after was just as good.. I can not thank you all enough.. it’s such a terrifying time as you do not know what to expect and can all be very daunting.. but what a brilliant team there is there... from the moment I stepped in to the moment I left everyone was so welcoming, kind and caring!! They all do a brilliant job! Thank you for making this experience just that little bit easier..

Thank you so much for this fabulous feedback. The guys in Essex will be so pleased when they see this and it's a great boost for morale.

I've sent this already to the Centre managers and I know how happy they will be. These are very positive comments which I'm sure will also be appreciated by others in your position.

I hope anyone reading this has been reassured a little about what we know is a major decision for anyone. A big thank you from all of us in MSI and best wishes to you.
