"TRYING TO GET AN URGENT APPOINTMENT"

About: Practice Two

We have recently moved to Bridlington and were allocated practice 2 for our doctors surgery. The first time my son tried to see a doctor he was told to phone at 8am which he did for over a week and could not see anyone. He was told to phone at 3pm if he was not successful on the morning which he did but still could not get to see a doctor. It took over two weeks to finally see a doctor. My husband tried to phone the doctors surgery over 40 times this morning to see the doctor urgently. When he finally got through he was told they couldn't see him and the earliest appointment would be the middle of February. My husband is 68 years old and has been very poorly with the flu which has got on to his chest. He has previously had one of his lungs collapse and I am worried it could develop into pneumonia. If he cannot get in to see the doctor then we will have no choice but to go to the hospital and from reports on the television they are already in crisis. I would also like to add that the woman on the phone this morning was very unpleasant. When my husband told her how many times he had tried to get through she said , WELL OTHER PEOPLE MANAGE IT, and then told him it would be the middle of February before he could see someone.
