"How can 13 patients be crammed onto one ward in..."

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / General surgery

I have no complaints to make about feedback from medical staff, staff care..., it is about the overall management, privacy issues that I feel are disgraceful in a 21st century hospital. I cannot believe that in a developed country so many patients are crammed into one ward. Surely this is just inviting infection. This seems to be quite exceptional because other hospitals in the North West do not have such an issue. I also saw two patients expose themselves during the visit to my father. The noise level because of such a situation is also not inducive to recovery. Patients that were infectious and in separate rooms came across the ward to go to the shared toilet, which was highly disconcerting.

I was concerned to read your comments. Unfortunately I cannot offer feedback at the moment as you do not specify which ward or when this was. If you would like the Patient & Customer Services Team to look into this for you, please contact them on 0161 419 5678 or by email at psc@stockport.nhs.uk quoting reference PALS 1248
