"Shoddy and rude"

About: Glenfield Hospital / Cardiology

I was admitted with some high Heart Failure enzymes, breathlessness and a worrying family history nearly a year ago.

Many staff on the cardiac unit were pleasant but I did not see a cardiologist nor get any tests for 5 days and then sent out with no explanation but told to wait with severe breathlessness for appointments for these further tests.

When one of the 2 suggested appointments came through (the second appointment never did???) the MRI department for that test were VERY rude and unhelpful, refusing to accommodate my self employed work schedule at all and CANCELLING my appointment, telling my doctor I had done so, which was untrue!

Then the long awaited (nearly a year) consultant appointment was cancelled a week before it was due and no alternative registrar offered. So all in all, still breathless, had to explain to my GP I did not cancel the appointment , that still no Echo follow up and please refer me to another hospital. Ps Not to mention the hellish people in records as tried to get my records to go privately and no joy there either as Leicester policy does not follow national guidelines and as I was ill (and still am) gave up :-(
