My grandmother was a patient on Friends ward at Whitstable and Tankerton hospital for what turned out to be end of life care.
We have a large family and someone would be with her from early in the morning until late in the evening.
This was never a problem for the staff there.
We were all made welcome, greeted with a smile and offered endless cups of tea.
Every time I visited my Nan she looked comfortable and cared for.
When her condition deteriorated she was given a private room so that she, and we as a family could have some privacy and dignity.
When my Nan sadly passed away the staff could not have been more caring or compassionate.
The respect and care shown to us all was wonderful.
Thank you all for making this difficult time for us more bearable.
"A dignified end for a special lady."
