"Care after c-section"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Maternity

I had an emergency c-section and the care after on the ward was excellent. From the moment I entered the ward there was always someone around to help me. The advice I got was vital for being successful with breastfeeding. My baby wasn’t initially interested to breastfeed and the nursing nurse was calm and showed how to self express to satisfy baby‘s demand. I learned essential things to be able to look after my daughter at home. I felt blessed that everyone on the ward cared for me.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your care and treatment in the Maternity Unit at Heartlands Hospital.

It is lovely to read such positive comments and I am pleased you received excellent care, as I appreciate it would have been a very worrying time for you and your family undergoing an emergency C-Section.

I shall forward your posting to the senior management team for the Maternity Services and ask that it is shared with the staff, whom I am sure they will be absolutely delighted to read your comments.

Once again, thank you for your posting as all patient feedback is important to us, whether it is negative or positive, as this helps the Trust to improve our services and make changes where necessary.

We continually strive to improve our service for all patient’s and visitors.

Best wishes and congratulations on the birth of your baby daughter

Miss J. Langham

Patient Services Officer
