"Seeing a new therapist"

About: Inclusion Matters Wirral

(as a service user),

The first person that I saw for my therapy was wonderful. However, halfway through my sessions I was informed that I could no longer see her due to personal reasons. I had to wait  for quite a few weeks to be referred to another therapist. The new therapist I saw was ok, however, she tried to do lots of techniques  and exercises with me as opposed to just listening and talking. I found this to be slightly off-putting, as I did not feel that the exercises were particularly beneficial. I would have liked to have more than 8 sessions, as I felt that my problems could have been helped more in-depth with additional sessions.

Dear caelumfq53. Thank you very much for providing us with feedback. Firstly, I'm sorry that you had to wait a while to see a new therapist. There is currently an extremely high demand for our service so it can take a while for an appointment to become available. Without knowing what type of therapy you were receiving, I am unable to comment on the strategies utilized by your therapist. If you want to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us. With regards to needing more than 8 sessions, this is the recommended number of sessions. However, if you feel that you require further therapy, please feel free to refer yourself to ourselves again. Best of luck with your ongoing journey.
