"A more pleasant experience than I had..."

About: Princess Anne Hospital

What I liked

All of the Nurses, Consultants, meal providers, etc were very friendly, cheerful, helpful and informative. I shared a ward room with 2 -3 other ladies and we all seemed to get on well which helped the few days I stayed in hospital go quite quickly, which helped as I had previously never stayed in hospital.

I was also impressed with the menu for lunch and dinner choices, the food was a lot better than I had been expecting.

What could be improved

I would have liked someone to have taken the time to show me how to adjust the bed, where the alarm button was, etc, as this was not done when I arrived on the ward at approx 2000, it was almost assumed that I would already know all about these things.

Anything else?

I hope the 'staff' all realise how much of a difference they can and do make, what a lovely group of nurses, doctors, etc I met during my stay.

Thanks for your feedback Mrs Cotgreave – our staff are really pleased to hear you had such a good experience with us. We agree with you that the staff on Bramshaw do a fantastic job and we were delighted to pass on your comments. We are sorry you weren’t shown how to use the bed controls; although there are instruction on the bed, we know that sometimes a bit of help is appreciated and we will remind staff of this issue.
