"Multi level spinal fusion carried out"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

In august 2017 i had a multi level spinal fusion carried out.

I had previously undergone other spinal procedures/surgery under the same doctor's care. I found him to be most pleasant, with a good patient-doctor repore.

He made me feel at ease, and explained everything in detail to myself and my wife.

Nothing was too much trouble.

The whole team who work with him, including his secretary, are all very pleasant and understanding.

I spent my pre and post operative time on ward 218, where all members of staff were excellent in the jobs, always making time for any requests or questions that i had.

My only issue was the food that was served.

I found it to be of poor quality, and choice. Bring back the in-house kitchens.

I highly recommend the doctor and his team.

Our staff really do work hard to ensure they provide a high standard of care, and feedback such as yours very much appreciated. I will ensure I forward your lovely comments to the team who looked after you.

All feedback is very valuable to us as an organisation so I will also share your thoughts on the food with the Matron for Estates and Facilities for her information.

I do hope you're well on the way to recovery following in your surgery in August.

With best wishes

Rebecca Pilling, Quality Improvement Facilitator: Patient Experience.
