"Waiting so long and difficult Appointment was..."

About: Guy's Hospital / Rheumatology

Seeing GP twice in 3 months to make appointment.

Waiting for weeks for the appointment.

Was cancelled 4 working days before the appointment with a text msg but no reason.

No one called to tell or rebook. Realized only in the morning when looking for hospital address.

I am like most of people in London, busy, not even have time to check those msg. Why they cancel but not even bother to make a call to make alternative arrangement?

Took whole day to rebook for appointment in 2 weeks. Called to complaint for 24 min, but was told either to write to complain and get reply in 9 weeks, or manager call me back as informal reply.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had to wait a number of weeks for your appointment and that your appointment was cancelled 4 days beforehand without a reason, no-one contacted you to rebook and it took all day for you to re-arrange this appointment. We would like to apologise for this. We do use text messaging as way of contacting patients as this can be quicker than posting a letter to patients. If you would like to contact our PALS service they will be able to look into the matter of the cancellation of the appointment and the problems you had re-arranging it.
