What I liked
Due to a family history of thrombosis I was monitored very closely during my pregnancy by the medical team. I had regular appointments and at each appointment I was scanned. I felt safe reassured and a little spoilt at the wonderful treatment that I received.
I had a traumatic birth, two weeks after my due date. Despite this I was looked after brilliantly by all staff. The midwives were excellent and the theatre team were amazing.
I work in the health profession and I was so impressed. The anaesthetist during my delvery was reassuring and did far more for me than his role as an anaesthetist required. Nothing was too much trouble. I was then checked on each day after my birth by a member of the anasthetic team.
I wish I knew the name of all of the staff involved in my delivery, they have no idea how much their kindness and professionalism meant to me.
What could be improved
Hazel ward is very busy and overall the staff were brilliant, however drinking water was not offered unless asked for. I felt a little uncomfortable when I had to keep asking for water.
Anything else?
Thankyou to all of the staff in delivery, on Hazel ward and to all of the theatre and anasthetic staff.
I hope the chief exec sees this review and realises what a wonderful team you are!
"professional, friendly and reassuring."
