"Lack of basic equipment - no over bed tables to..."

I was horrified that a basic item like an adjustable over- bed type table are not readily available to older individuals to eat their meals at.

At meal times I saw frail individuals using chairs to put their meals on or balancing it on their laps.

My main concerns are:-

* health & safety -have you tried eating hot soup on your lap without even a tray !!

*, hygiene of such a solution -chairs are not designed to put food on.

* dignity of individuals.

A lot of people have never been use to having to take their meals in this fashion.
