"Rheumatologist not following up"

About: Withybush General Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I saw a rheumatologist who said they would pass on all information needed for managing my pain, to my gp so I didn’t have to keep going to withybush. It’s been over a month and my surgery has had nothing from them.  They also sent me for an ultrasound and was told by the secretary that the results had been sent to my surgery but haven’t received those either.

I’m in constant pain which the consultant knows yet I feel like I’m not of any importance and just being passed from surgery to hospital and no one gives me any actual answers on my condition.

Thank you for providing your feedback to the Health Board; I am sorry to hear of your concerns and for the delay in your GP receiving information following your appointment with your Rhematologist. The Patient Support Team would be pleased to look into your concern in further detail and speak with the Rheumatology Department to ensure that this information is received by your GP Surgery.

The Patient Support Team can be contacted on 0300 0200 159 or on hdhb.patientsupportservices@wales.nhs.uk

Please do not hesitate to contact the Team or myself on the above number.

Update posted by tt46 (the patient)

I have seen my gp since and I’ve been offered new pain medication but needing to live day to day with the pain would be more helpful than just having pills for chronic pain. So my grumble is that one doctor did not pass along the information to another for pain management as promised.
