"From cleaners, Nurses, carers and the Surgeons..."

I came in to have a hip just over two weeks ago

My op was on the NHS.

Not once did i feel second class because i wasn't personally picking up the bill for my hip operation.

Your own room on the ward is a blessing so you can sleep undisturbed after your op

Ladies dressed in black who address themselves as your Hostess tell you to just ask for anything special you might need diet wise .

they remembered i liked Earl Grey tea, not once forgetting.

Always time to move tablets or water jugs to place your food trays on you food table.

Polite staff throughout from the pre -op staff to the physiotherapists after your op.

When you call the nurse for help or to get help to the toilet you will find your buzzer answered straight away.

12 days later

I came back to have a member of outpatients staff check my wound and remove my dressing

I had just poured myself a hot chocolate from the machine and walking with two sticks i spilt the whole cup in the treatment room.

a member of staff mopped it up and my tears of frustration and embarrassment.

I can't praise this lady high enough, she sat me down after and filled my cup flask so i could pop it in my bag.

This lady like all the staff are professional but very very Human and genuinely kind.

All of the surgeons are very good.

Your glued now so no clips to come out after and no awful stockings , you have those calf wraps put on wrapping around and massaging your lower leg. that's a big help, i hate those tight stockings even though they could stop a would be clot.

Also no painful stingy tummy injections you take blood thinning tablets for the time in hospital and a month after.

After the first awaking, where you are given enough pain relief to stop the immediate pain to the first half day when i would say yes take all you can but honestly after that you will be in very little pain.

I choose to return there for my very best after care physio.

Again the staff so good.

I can't praise this hospital enough.
