"Exemplary treatment following breaking my wrist"

About: Weston General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I went to A&E at Weston General Hospital following falling and breaking my wrist. I was seen within 5 minutes and after X-ray it was clear I would need an operation. The orthopaedic specialist who saw me in A&E was excellent and manipulated my arm so it felt much better; the following day the consultant and his team visited me to tell me what would happen and operated on me.

Less than 24 hours after I had come in I was discharged having been put back to rights! The care I received was absolutely exemplary and I feel very privileged to have benefited from the skill, professionalism and kindness of this orthopaedic team.

Indeed, every member of staff, from the receptionist in A &E, the X-ray staff, the nurses both in A and E and the day care ward and the porters were absolutely lovely, despite being very busy. Thank you so much Weston General Hospital!
