Over the last few years I have been attending respiratory due to a chronic condition.
The usual protocol is: get tests done, then see the consultant. Recently my tests were cancelled but I had still to see the consultant. At the appointment it was pointed out there was no point in me being there as I had not had recent tests carried out and that it would be unlikely I would get tests any time soon.
When I enquired as to why, I was informed the respiratory department had been moved due to pressures on the hospital. That's all fine and well but why move a department if there is not a functional department for it to be moved to? Why move then do all the work? That's like moving into a derelict house and saying I'll work on it as I go and risk complications.
I cannot fault the staff only the way that this has been handled. I could tell how stressed and upset the staff and consultants were about this.
"There was no point in me being there"
