"A high standard of professionalism"

About: Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7)

(as other),

My husband was admitted to ward 7 in the early hours suffering from severe stomach pain.

The standard of care he received was exceptional, with nursing staff displaying a high standard of professionalism whilst maintaining a calm relaxed and most importantly caring role towards their patients.

Time was made to answer questions and it was so nice to see interaction being encouraged between fellow patients which was initiated by nursing staff.

In particular one member of staff Lindsey displayed super efficient skills in communicating and carrying out clinical procedures with her patients and although she was obviously very busy her nursing skills and efficient manner had such a positive effect on the patients in the ward promoting a strong level of confidence.

Ward 7 from what I witnessed are a strong team and I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you and your efforts against all odds are appreciated.

Dear Poppyred

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, I hope things are now better for you both.

I will ensure that your kind words are seen by the team and I am sure Lindsey will be delighted to be called out in such a positive way.

Communicating well with patients and families is one of our key areas of focus across the Board and having great examples of when that works well from a family member's perspective is so valuable, thank you for helping us in this way.

Kind regards

Ros
