"Poor"

About: Pathfields Medical Group

Having been a patient of this surgery for 8 years now.

I can honestly say I have never been so poorly received or treated by a doctors surgery in all my life. Wrong information given, treated like you’re wasting peoples time. Samples going missing, results the same. No follow up to any treatments, prescriptions not being put in the pharmacy when they say they will, leading to emergency use of the Devon doctors.

Trying to get to see a doctor is a joke!!! Unless you wait 3 weeks of course!!,

There is one good doctor at this practice.

Thank you for your feedback.

Its very concerning if you have had issues like this at the surgery.

We would therefore be most grateful if you could contact our complaints manager with specific details so we can investigate the issues you mention in this post.

As a practice we try very hard to meet the needs of our patients in a timely and effective manner but unfortunately primary care is in crisis nationally with a decade on underfunding - patient need has been rising by about 3% per year yet funding has only increased by about 1% per year thus every year the service we can provide for our patients is that little bit worse.

We need more staff to better meet patient needs but this is only possible through national policy change.

Every GP at the practice works extra long hours in an attempt to meet patient need but its still not enough and our patients are therefore starting to feel the pressure the primary care system is under.

The three week wait for appointments is now fairly standard across Plymouth and in many places nationally.

As a nation we need a serious political discussion about the future of the NHS.

If you would like to help in the solution please contact your MP or become a member of our patient participation group.

If you are ken to follow up on any of these points raised please get in contact via our email: pathfields.practice@nhs.net
