Darlington Memorial hospital should be very proud of its staff Labour and Postnatal wards as well as its community midwife service.
This was my second birth at Darlington Hospital and the level of care I received was absolutely outstanding.
I was able to be induced ina side room rather than on a ward which meant my partner could stay with me, which I know rarely happens in other hospitals.
They had birthing balls and wireless monitoring of baby available to encourage an active birth.
Staff involved me in all of the decisions that were made during and after the delivery of our son and their breastfeeding support was second to none.
I'm glad we have this service in Darlington which in my experience is the best in the area.
It is very helpful that the registrar visits the hospital ward to register births and it would be useful if this service could be extended to more days per week.
Food at Darlington Hospital is very good, and all staff were very attentive.
