"go to the hospital DONT waste your time with these"

About: Marie Stopes International Manchester Centre

So i visited here to support my daughter we were greeted by two sour faced receptionists she signed in and we was told to sit in a very awkward tiny waiting room an hour later she was called i was not allowed to go up stairs with her which i understand they have to make sure this is her decision. she went to a waiting room upstairs with all the other girls she was called by the doctor who never introduced her self they asked her name dob and she was scanned they could not see anything told to return a week later (no explanation) so we returned a week later this time greeted by an older lady on reception who actually smiled and was quite pleasant we sat waiting for 2 hours again i was not allowed to go into the room with her they did an internal scan and again could not see anything told my daughter possible ectopic pregnancy and she will have to come back again in 3 days after 3 days worried we returned again i was not allowed to go up with her which is absolutely disgusting everyone needs support so off she went again all alone and was re scanned internally again nothing could be seen they gave us a letter for the hospital and with that we were sent to the early pregnancy unit at the hospital we got to the hospital to a nice smile we signed in waited for 30mins to be seen was greeted by a lovely nurse who introduced her self and asked to scan my daughter she was looking on the scan for 5mins when she said yes theres something in the sac ( the same sac where there was nothing only an hour before ) she got a second opinion from another nurse paper work was printed with nhs number name what was seen the size how many weeks pregnant ect (the fetus had stopped growing at 5 weeks with no heartbeat) we was told to go back to marie stopes we phoned them and rebooked for 2 days later so yet again we were greeted by the same miserable sour faces told to sit back in the waiting room, again she had to go up stairs on her own for them to not accept the letter from the hospital saying the fetus is in the sac no heartbeat and stopped growing remembering they sent us to the hospital with a letter and their letter was accepted by the hospital but no this headed letter was not good enough proof that the fetus was in the sac they wanted to re scan her internally needless to say my daughter refused after being messed about by theses at marie stopes and knowing they wont be able to see it as they could not see in 2 days before it wouldnt have grow as it had stopped growing at 5 weeks my daughter was nearly 8 weeks so after my daughter refusing the internal scan we went to reception and i asked why they wouldnt do her treatment to be shouted at saying we could have got the scan from anywhere i told her its not a scan its a headed letter and she scowled at me and said we could have printed it from anywhere!!! we left and returned to the hospital where she is now getting great care needless to say any young girls out there go to the hospital for a caring service

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you and your daughter had such a poor experience. Without further details I am unable to comment on specifics about your daughter without her permission.

However if you wish to discuss this further you can call our 24 hour helpline on 0345 300 8090 with details of this episode and someone will call you back to go through your concerns.

Feedback is always welcome as it is the best way to help prevent a reoccurrence and I will ensure the team in Manchester see this.
